Stop outsourcing your happiness, love yourself first – Mary Njoku tells women

Actress Mary Njoku has cautioned against outsourcing one’s happiness, emphasising the importance of self-love and prioritising one’s own well-being.

In an Instagram post, she encouraged women to take responsibility for their own happiness and not rely on others.

Mary stressed that mothers, in particular, should love themselves alongside their children, taking breaks and being selfish when needed.

She highlighted the brevity of life, noting that those who seem indispensable will move on.

“Stop outsourcing your happiness! Love yourself. Never put the responsibility for your happiness on someone else; you will always come last if you put them first.

“If you’re a mother, love your children, but love yourself too. It’s okay to take a break. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes.

“Life is short. You don’t know when it will end. One day, you could be gone. And you will be remembered for…, if you are remembered at all.

“The people you think can’t live without you? They will go on. Some may even live better without you. Love yourself. Life is too short not to”, she wrote.
