Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface must be cursing his rotten luck as he is now set to undergo a knee surgery that will end his season.
However, he will remain on loan at Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.
This past week, Victor Boniface visited a specialist in Austria over his persistent knee problem.
Bild has now reported that the loan transfer for Victor Boniface between Werder Bremen and Leverkusen will be maintained until the end of the season.
Victor Boniface will not play for Werder again due to a confirmed cartilage damage that now has to result in surgery.
Werder Bremen will not face financial consequences, as Leverkusen will cover the salary of the player.
The bubbly striker was philosophical after news broke he will need to go under the knife again.
“Been putting fake smile for almost a year. But God knows why all this is happening. Grateful to God,” he posted on X
Earlier he had described 2025 as “tough year”.
