Organisation Unveils Top 25 Women Voices In Devt., Public Service

The Africa Hub for Innovation and Development (AHFID), alongside partners, unveiled the Top 25 Women Voices in Development and Public Service, recognising outstanding contributions across governance, education, climate action, healthcare, and development.

The statement explained that International Women’s Day inspired recognition for women delivering measurable impact continentally.
Among the honourees were Mrs Moji Makanjuola, Executive Director of the International Society of Media in Public Health, and Ojoma Akor, Editor of Health and Science Africa, alongside distinguished development leaders.
Other honourees included Dr Margaret Shelleng, Dr Ota Akigbe, Dr Amina Dorayi, Dr Lilian Anomnachi, Edima Ottoho and Olayinka Badmus.
Also recognised were Peculiar Caleb, Dr Erekpitan Ola-Adisa, Mrs Vivianne Ihekweazu, Bella Akhagba, Dr Chinekwu Oreh and Dr Mary Olupitan.
Others on the list were Enifome Ogbimi, Dr Chioma Law-Maduka, Dr Njideka Udochi, Rosemund Onuoha, Motunrayo Opayinka and Mrs Boladale Akin-Kolapo.
The remaining honourees included Adekemi Adeniyan, Mrs Tine Woji, Dr Nwanja Esther, Dr Batulu Muhammad and Chichi Okoye.
The statement said that more than 400 nominations from several sectors underwent assessment processes, while candidates were evaluated according to measurable impact, leadership capacity, and contributions advancing sustainable development within communities.
The final list was unveiled during a virtual event attended by development professionals, media representatives, and partner organisations, while AHFID announced continued campaign spotlights celebrating each selected woman’s contributions throughout Africa.
Dr Kunle Kakanfo, Managing Partner at AHFID, said, “This recognition is about impact and visibility. Too often, the work of women in development and public service goes unseen,” while outlining objectives.
He added, “This initiative is about changing that, by putting visibility on impact and ensuring these contributions are recognised where it matters,” emphasising representation for women influencing policy, leadership, and outcomes.
