Nigerian gospel music minister Phillips Esther Omolara has reaffirmed her commitment to spreading the message of Christ through inspirational songs, describing her music ministry as a calling to lead people into God’s presence and inspire spiritual transformation.
Omolara, also known as “Apple of God’s Eye,” said her mission as a gospel singer and songwriter is to create an atmosphere of worship where people can encounter God and experience miracles through music.
Born on April 8, 1990, in Lagos, the gospel minister hails from Ogbomosho in Oyo State. She was raised in Lagos where she began her journey in music at an early age.
Omolara started singing in the children’s choir in church before progressing to the adult choir where she served as a vocalist and praise leader. Her early exposure to church music laid the foundation for what later developed into a full-fledged gospel music ministry.
Speaking about her upbringing, the singer noted that church activities played a major role during her formative years, shaping both her spiritual life and musical direction.
She attended Duro-Oyedoyin Nursery and Primary School in Ijeshatedo, Lagos, before proceeding to Sanya Grammar School for her secondary education. After completing her secondary studies, she furthered her education at Lagos State Polytechnic.
Her musical style blends inspirational gospel lyrics with diverse sounds including contemporary worship, highlife, reggae and traditional Yoruba elements.
Omolara said although she does not have a single role model in the gospel music industry, she draws inspiration from several veteran gospel artists whose music shaped her passion for worship. Among them are Bola Are, Tope Alabi, Omije Ojumi, Baba Ara, and Bulky Beks.
She is married to Phillips Oluwatomisin Omobolaji, an indigene of Ogun State, and their union is blessed with children.
According to the singer, her ultimate goal in gospel music is to use her voice as a tool for evangelism and spiritual upliftment, reaching people across communities and inspiring them to draw closer to God through worship.
