A stage adaptation of Dr Abiola Salami’s bestselling book ‘No More Shrinking’ is set to be performed in Lagos.
Entitled, ‘No More Shrinking – The Stage Experience’, the production is scheduled to be held on March 28 at Terra Kulture as part of International Women’s Day activities.
The play, directed by Austin Onuoha, features performances by Imoh Eboh, Tosin Adeyemi, Uche Elumelu, Joy Nmezi, Chinonso Young Umesiobi and Miriam Paul.
Speaking at the media unveiling, Executive Producer, Dr Abiola Salami, said the project was designed to spotlight issues surrounding women’s leadership, visibility and personal growth.
“Too many brilliant women are shrinking in rooms they were born to lead. Not because they lack competence or intelligence but because culture, conditioning, and compromise have normalised playing small,” he said.
According to Salami, the stage play aimed to challenge cultural and organisational norms that limit women’s participation and advancement.
“This is not a woman’s event. It is a leadership and economic growth platform. Because when women operate at full capacity, companies perform better. When women lead boldly, institutions grow stronger. When women stop shrinking, economies expand.”
