Renowned Christ Apostolic Church gospel singer, Deborah Fasoyin, popularly known for her evergreen Yoruba song Odun n Lo Sopin, has dismissed viral claims of her death, describing the reports as false.
In a video statement, the 86-year-old singer clarified that she is alive and in good health, attributing the rumour to misinformation circulating on social media.
Fasoyin, who celebrated her 86th birthday on March 1, 2026, expressed gratitude for her continued well-being, saying she remains “hale and hearty.”
She also thanked supporters and well-wishers for their concern, adding that she is confident she will continue to live in sound health and finish strong.
“I am happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake. I will finish strong and healthy with supernatural sound health and I will go to my Father in peace, not in sickness, pain and I will die at a good old age just like my father Abraham”, she said.
The false reports had sparked widespread condolence messages online, with her photograph shared alongside “RIP” inscriptions.
