Nigerian singer Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, has opened up about his past struggle with mental health and how he was able to overcome it.
Speaking during a livestream with Caterefe on Thursday night, Crayon disclosed that he had mental health issues in 2022 due to pressure from family and the music industry.
He explained that he was under intense stress because he was trying to meet up with family demands as well as earn a top spot in the music industry.
The music star stated he was hospitalised for therapy for a long time after which he returned with the hit songs ‘Labalaba’ and ‘Overloading’.
Crayon said, “In 2022, I had mental health issues from all sort of stress; family, industry, trying to be number one stress. I was hospitalised for a long therapy session, then I came out and dropped Labalaba and Overloading.”
