EPL: He knows Chelsea inside out – Salomon Kalou on manager to replace Maresca

Salomon Kalou, former Chelsea attacker, has backed Coventry City’s Frank Lampard as a potential candidate to replace current manager Enzo Maresca at the Premier League west London club if Chelsea’s hierarchy decide to sack the Italian.

Speaking with The Sportzine, Kalou  applauded Maresca for his impressive work at Stamford Bridge since joining from Leicester City.

“Enzo Maresca has done a lot of good work at Chelsea and [the Blues] will want stability,” the former Ivory Coast international said.

“If results don’t improve [at Chelsea], naturally speculation [about Maresca’s sack] will grow and my former teammate Lampard is one name that stands out for me.

“Lampard knows Chelsea inside out and he could do well if given another chance,” he said.
