EPL: Amorim gives update on Bruno Fernandes’ injury after 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes will be sidelined for “a while” after sustaining a hamstring injury in their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Fernandes pulled up in the first half with no one near him and was seen rubbing the back of his right leg.

Amorim subsequently decided to replace Fernandes with Lisandro Martinez during the interval.

“I think it’s soft tissue, so it’s going to be a while. We’ll see,” Amorim told Sky Sports.

“It is really strange. During this year, especially at this time, we have so many problems, but we have to cope with that.”
