2027: Actress Remi Surutu declares support for Tinubu

Nollywood actress Remi Surutu has thrown her support behind President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 general election.

The announcement was made during the launch of EKO57, a support group aimed at rallying public backing for Tinubu’s second term.

At the event, Surutu addressed critics who have questioned her stance, emphasizing her long-standing loyalty to Tinubu dating back to his governorship in Lagos State.

Reflecting on her experience during the 2023 elections, Surutu said she faced public criticism but remained steadfast.

“A day before the election, people tried to convince me that I was supporting someone responsible for my child’s death. I ignored it and still went out to vote the next day. Your vote is your right don’t let anyone intimidate you,” she stated.

The actress reaffirmed her commitment to the President, promising to actively campaign and vote for him.

“He has my vote, and I am standing by him. Anyone trying to scare people or discourage them from supporting him should know that I am not afraid,” she added.

Surutu also highlighted Tinubu’s dedication to governance, praising his quiet management of the country’s challenges.

She noted the tireless efforts of Tinubu and his family, saying, “This man does not sleep. His wife and son are constantly on the move, serving the nation. How many politicians’ families are this engaged?”

She further attributed some of the country’s issues to Nigerians’ own attitudes while emphasizing her confidence in Tinubu’s ability to lead effectively.
