Turaki-led PDP regains control of party secretariat after ‘police teargased’ 2 serving govs

The Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has finally regained control of the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza Abuja after face-off with expelled members.

DAILY POST reports that Turaki’s faction clashed with the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday.

The factions clashed while attempting to hold important meetings in the same facility, causing chaos in the area.

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed claimed that himself and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde were teargased during the incident.

After normalcy was restored, the recently elected National Chairman of the party, Tanimu Turaki assumed office at the Secretariat.

He was accompanied by the two state governors, Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde.
