Healthcare Partner+, in collaboration with the Advocacy for Development, Health and Environmental Sustainability (ADHES), has presented the ‘Award of Impact’ to Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health, Dr Gaza Gwamna.
The award recognises Gwamna’s contributions to expanding access to healthcare services, promoting equity, and strengthening accountability across the state’s health sector.
In a statement on Monday, the convener, Mr Shem Adah, said, “Dr Gwamna has shown exceptional commitment to advancing community health and fostering collaboration with stakeholders”.
He added, “His leadership ensures health services reach underserved communities and supports vulnerable groups across Nasarawa State”.
Adah noted that Gwamna’s initiatives align with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which seeks to reduce mortality, strengthen health systems, and ensure universal access to essential services.
“Key initiatives such as infrastructure upgrades, workforce development, and enhanced emergency response demonstrate his dedication to achieving SDG 3 targets,” he said.
He added that Gwamna’s contributions reflect global best practices in public health.
Responding, Gwamna expressed gratitude, saying, “I deeply appreciate this honour. It encourages us to intensify efforts to deliver quality healthcare services across Nasarawa State.”
He added, “We remain committed to advancing Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s health agenda and improving outcomes for both rural and urban communities”. (NAN)
