KWASUTH Reopens Radiology Department After Upgrade

The Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) has reopened its Radiology Department following months of upgrades and refurbishment.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the department is equipped with state-of-the-art medical imaging machines.

Referring to the reopening as a major milestone for the hospital and Kwara’s health system, the Chief Medical Director, Dr Bola Ahmed, said the absence of functional, sophisticated radiology equipment had constrained effective diagnosis and treatment.

Speaking in Ilorin, Ahmed said the acquisition supports ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve diagnostic capacity across the state.

“With installation completed, the Radiology Department has resumed full operations, offering patients essential imaging services within the hospital.

“This equipment marks a turning point. Testing is complete, and trained personnel are in place to begin full operations,” Ahmed said.

He said the upgrade would ease patient burdens, reduce reliance on private facilities or travel outside Kwara for investigations.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to investing in equipment, infrastructure and manpower, assuring expanded access to quality healthcare statewide. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
