The 18th edition of the annual Indomie Heroes Award is set to hold in October 2026.
This was made known on Thursday, March 5, 2025 during a media unveiling led by Temitope Ashiwaju, the Group Corporate Communications & Event Advisor of Dufil Prima foods limited.
The event also had in attendance were Shravan Kumar, senior brand and marketing manager, and Karishma Rustagi, National Coordinator Indomie Fans club.
Ashiwaju, in his presentation, expressed that the 18th edition of the Indomie Heroes Award will open its portal and social media platforms for entries.
He said for the 18th edition, entries are expected from children in the age grade of 16 years old and below.
Ashiwaju also noted that for each of the major three categories, Social Bravery, Physical Bravery, and Intellectual Bravery, a cash reward of N2million will be given to winners alongside one year supply of Indomie products each.
Reacting to the success of the awards over the years, Ashiwaju expressed that over 1,000 entries have been submitted and recognised even though not all made it to the 25 shortlisted final entries. He further said about 90 children have received awards in the major categories over the span of 18 years and more are billed to win in the 2026 edition.
Some of the past winners, who have gone ahead to do great exploits include Kanye, an autistic child that has broken three different Guinness Book records.
Ashiwaju also expressed that there are plans to induct all the past winners into the Indomie Hall of Fame for their giant strides.
Others include Innocent Yamawo (2015) who rescued his sister from a fire, 12-year-old Treasure Obasi (2015) for TV broadcasting, and George Sadoh (2013) for stopping a robbery. The young winners received substantial scholarships and accolades for their bravery, intellect, and social initiatives.
